MMA ( Mixed Martial Arts ) Champion visits our school, to read to our children.

The children have had a really exciting morning, Paddy Pimblett, who has just won ‘ Cage Warriors, Featherweight Champion of the World’, came to visit us with his title belt. During his visit, he read to a group of Year 5 and Year 6 children. He also answered some very interesting questions.

He told the children to ‘always follow their heart’ and that if they had a dream they must work hard to achieve it as they would only regret it.

He talked about how hard he has had to train and shared with them the times he had thought about giving up.

Paddy was an absolute inspiration to our children. One child asked. ‘ How much time do you waste on training?’ Paddy replied that training was never a ‘waste’ and that training is the thing that makes you a champion. ‘ If you want something badly enough, you have to work as hard as you can to achieve it.’

Paddy  teaches classes to young children, including those with Autism, at the Gym  that helped him achieve his goal. He also revealed that he is an ambassador for ‘ Fighting Autism’; a cause which is very close to his heart.

The children and staff would like to thank him for giving up his precious time, to inspire us all to never give up on our dreams.

Welcome Back! New School Year 2016-2017

Welcome back to the staff and children; we have had a wonderful start to the new school year; the school looks fantastic and the children look incredibly smart!

We have had some renovations done over the Summer holidays and the staff have been into school many times, preparing for the start of the new school year.

We will be continuing to focus on our love of reading. Each class has a specially designated and designed reading area.

Thank you so much to our family, who have, as usual, sent their children to school looking extremely smart and ready to learn; we are very proud of them all.

On a very exciting note, we seem to have had a very big ‘visitor’ in school, last night. He left behind some BIG clues!!! I will keep you informed of the outcome!!!

This has all been done to begin the celebrations of Roald Dahl Week.
